A LETTER FROM THE FOUNDER
My name is Bobbi.
I am an ordinary girl working at an extraordinary Church! I fill many roles, one of which is the Compassion Director for New Life Church in Menominee, MI. & Crivitz, WI.
Our Church is a National Care Strategy Location which means we seek partnerships locally and globally under the virtue model. Even though values differ amongst organizations- our shared virtues allow for a powerful partnership thus having greater impact. We agree that people deserve food, shelter, water, dignity, respect. Why? Because people matter.
There will be times that the zero project will raise awareness and action for a local concern. But not always. We've been asked,
"Why give money elsewhere when the need is so great here?"
We understand the propensity to think this way, but here are some more questions.
Have you ever been in a relationship with someone who was only concerned about their own needs? How did that turn out?
When thinking about local or global impact, it is our view that we do not have to choose one or the other. We can impact both our region and the world. We can't do it all.... but we can do something and we are better together. So, the questions we've chosen to ask are......
"What can we do?" ...... "What should we do?"
The Zero Project is what we've decided to do. For more information on how our first partnership came to be, please read my blog article, "A Dream Realized."
